چکیده

We study parity-time-symmetric non-Hermitian quantum systems at finite temperature, where the Boltzmann distribution law fails to hold. To characterize their abnormal physical properties, a statistical theory (the so-called Liouvillian theory) is developed, in which replaced by Liouvillian-Boltzmann law. Using theory, we derive analytical results of thermodynamic properties for and find that ``continuous'' phase transition occurs exceptional point, zero-temperature anomaly exists.

Quantum Hall effect at finite temperatures.

The underlying physics of the quantum Hall effect (QHE) is understood in terms of the Anderson localization in two dimensions (2D): a weakly disordered 2D electron gas experiences a series of metal-insulator transitions with increasing magnetic field B. The field-induced transitions are degenerate in the sense that the metallic phase occurs only at some particular values of B. At zero temperatu...

Quantum Resistive Behaviors in Vortex Liquid Regimes at Finite Temperatures

Motivated by a mean field-like resistive behavior in magnetic fields commonly seen in various superconducting cuprates and organics with strong fluctuation, superconducting (SC) quantum fluctuation effects on resistive behaviors are reexamined by putting emphasis on their roles in the so-called thermal vortex liquid regime. By incorporating the quantum fluctuations and a vortex pinning effect i...

Quantum Fluctuations in Superconducting Dots at Finite Temperatures

We study the thermodynamics of ultrasmall metallic grains with level spacing δ comparable or smaller than the pairing correlation energy, at finite temperatures, T> ∼ δ. We describe a method which allows to find quantum corrections to the effect of classical fluctuations. We present results for thermodynamic quantities in ordered grains and for the reentrant odd susceptibility in disordered gra...

Atoms at finite temperatures

These are working notes written as a first step in understanding atomic potentials and atomic structure in finite-temperature systems. 1 Thomas-Fermi Theory As a first step, we consider the Thomas-Fermi theory at finite temperatures. This is my version of the discussion of temperature-dependent Thomas-Fermi theory given in the seminal work of Feynman, Metropolis, and Teller [1]. Later, we will ...

The “wave function” of charmonium is also discussed to study ...
